Tajikistan is industrially-agrarian republic with a diversified agriculture. The basic kinds of the industry are: light, food, nonferrous metallurgy, the electric power industry, mountain-extracting, building materials. The fuel and energy industry is presented by hydraulic power (36,4%), coal (22,3%), oil (18,3%), gas (13%) and other kinds. In republic 47 kinds of mineral raw material are reconnoitred, including: ores black, colour, rare and precious metals, oil, gas, coal and non-metallic industrial raw material, various non-metallic building materials, precious and ornamental stones. The basic industries of republic are — power, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, chemistry, light and etc. The electric power industry is pride of republic. It plays a huge role in development and accommodation of branches of a national economy of republic. On stocks of electric power industry the republic takes 2 place in the country, conceding only to the Russian Federation. It is promoted by glaciers. Only on Pamir there are 7 glaciers which feed the numerous mountain rivers. On these rivers 9 HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATIONS are constructed. Now is under construction two HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATIONS. The power shares on 2 branches: electric power industry and a fuel industry. The fuel industry of Tajikistan unites manufacture of coal, oil and gas. Coal stocks of republic make 14 billion tons, i.e. 41% of coal of republics of Central Asia. |
